RICH TOMASELLO

The mixed media art that I create is greatly influenced by the world around me.  For several years my art has specifically addressed the loss of innocence. Most recently I have been making large-scale plaster sculptures of objects of violence such as guillotines, video cameras, and tanks.

Memories from my childhood, current events, the toy industry, advertising for children specific to gender, and social justice are topics that appear in my work.

Rich Tomasello is from Buffalo New York. He earned a BFA in Illustration from the University at Buffalo and an MA in Art Education from Buffalo State College. He is an Exhibiting Member of the Buffalo Society of Artists. Tomasello’s work has been featured on The Huffington Post and has been shown in many group and solo exhibitions including:  the Erie Art Museum, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Memorial Art Gallery, Truth to Power during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Politicon in Pasadena, California, ArtsWestchester, as well as Into Action in Los Angeles, California.
